Connacht Minor Championship – Hard luck to the Leitrim minor team who were defeated by Roscommon last week. They now play Mayo on Friday, 3rd May at 7pm in Castlebar. Best of luck to Jack, Jamie and the Leitrim minor team and management.
Leitrim Ladies – Well done to the Leitrim ladies who had a fantastic win over Sligo on Sunday. Final score – Leitrim 7:20 Sligo 0:07. They now play Roscommon in the Connacht Intermediate Final on Sunday, 12th May at 4pm, venue TBC. Best of luck to Aisling, Edel, Éimhín and Síomha and all the Leitrim team.
St Brigids U18 League – Well done to the St Brigids minors who overcame Melvin Gaels last week. Next they Drumkeerin this Tuesday, 30th April at 7pm in Aughnasheelin.
St Brigids U15 League – Hard luck to the St Brigids U15 team who were defeated by Annaduff last week. They now play Glencar-Manorhamilton this Thursday, 2nd May at 7pm in Drumreilly.
St Brigids Ladies League – Hard luck to St Brigids ladies who were defeated by Kiltubrid at the weekend. Their next spring league game is this Sunday, 5th May against St Mary’s Kiltoghert, at 11am in Aughawillan. Best of luck to all involved!
Quid Games – Mark Plunkett is representing Aughawillan GAA in the Quid Games in support of Kiltubrid GAA, in the hopes of winning the €5,000 prize money and bringing it back to the club! Mark has organised a Texas Hold’em Tournament fundraiser for his participation in the Quid Games. It takes place this Sunday, 5th of May in The Ballymac Inn with registration starting at 5pm. 25 Card Game – Games of 25 will conclude this Friday, 3rd May for the summer months. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to play during the winter!
Leitrim Ploughing Match 2024 – The postponed ploughing match will now take place this Saturday, 4th May when Micheál Flanagan’s farm will host the annual event. Please check the Leitrim Ploughing Association Facebook page for any updates. A firm favourite on the farming calendar. As well as the ploughing competitions themselves, with all classes covered, there will be lots of trade stands, a dog show with 10 classes, face painting, bouncy castles and free entertainment for kids. The Revd Hazel Hicks and Fr Seán Mawn will conduct a blessing at 2pm. A festival day with something for everyone, young and old to enjoy.
Leitrim Supporters Tickets – The Leitrim GAA Supporters Club Draw for 2024 will take place on Saturday 1st June in Cox’s Steakhouse, Dromod. There is a first prize of €5,000 with many more brilliant prizes. Tickets are €50 and there is a Leitrim GAA supporters club car sticker with every ticket purchased. Tickets can be purchased through club executive members. As with other years Aughawillan GAA have an allocation of tickets which must be sold so your support would be much appreciated.
Nursery Training – Garadice Gaels nursery training continues on Saturday mornings, on the Astro pitch in Drumreilly at 10am for U7s, U9s and U11s. All welcome, the training focuses on the children learning Gaelic football skills in a fun and enjoyable way while having a laugh and making friends!
