Club Notes – 15/05/2023

Division 1 League – We wish the Senior team and management the best of luck in the All County Division 1 League, which begins this weekend. Aughawillan open the League at home to Leitrim Gaels on Sunday 21 May, at 1pm. Please support!

St Brigids LGFA – Congratulations to St Brigids LGFA on their Division 3 Spring League win last weekend. Well done to all involved!

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others – G4MO continues on Monday at 8pm in Aughawillan. All welcome, spread the word and bring a friend! No experience necessary!

Tailteann Cup – Hard luck to the Leitrim Senior team who were defeated in the opening round of the Tailteann Cup by Antrim. Final Score: Antrim 3-18, Leitrim 2-12. We wish them the best of luck against Fermanagh in Round 2, this Saturday 20 May at 6pm in Pairc Sean.

Leitrim Ladies – Hard luck to the Leitrim Ladies who were defeated by Roscommon in the Intermediate Connacht Final last week, Roscommon 2-13, Leitrim 1-9. Aughawillan & St Brigids is represented by Carla LeGuen, Aisling Quinn, Edel Shanley, Eimhin & Siomha Quinn and Rachel Dolan.

Underage – Best of luck to St Brigids u13s who play Mohill away on Thursday 18 May, at 7pm, and Leitrim Gaels at 7pm in Drumreilly on Monday 22 May. 

Nursery – Nursery continues for all kids aged 4-7 on Friday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.15pm in Drumreilly AstroTurf. Training for u9 & u11s continues on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in Aughawillan. 

Whist Drive – Thank you to everyone who took part in the whist drive last week, to Aughawillan Hall for hosting and to everyone who donated spots prizes and helped out on the night, with all proceeds going to Aughawillan GAA. The winners: Top: Martin Flanagan. Ladies: 1st: Julie Lynch, 2nd: Sharon Caffrey, 3rd: Jean O’Reilly, Half Time: Melissa Brady. Gents: 1st: Brian McGlade, 2nd: Sean O’Reilly, 3rd: Bran Pratt, Half Time: Con O’Gorman. Lowest: Geraldine O’Reilly, Hatcher: Francis Kelleher.

St Brigids Summer Draw: Keep an eye out for St Brigids LGFA who will be selling tickets for their summer draw, with a top prize of €3,000! Tickets are also available online – please see their social media pages ‘St Brigids LGFA’ for more information.

Comhbhrón – Aughawillan GAA wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the late Peter Shortt, Ballinamore and the late Thomas Joseph Prior, Corlough. Ar dheis Dé go raibh ar a n-amanacha.
