Senior League – Best of luck to the Senior team who play Gortletteragh this Saturday 29th June at 7pm in Aughawillan.
Junior League – Best of luck to the Junior team who play St Mary’s on Sunday 30th June at 12 noon in Aughawillan.
Ladies – Best of luck to the Senior Ladies who play Oughteragh Ladies on Sunday 30th June at 10am in Drumreilly. St Brigid’s u12s play Annaduff on Tuesday 2nd July at 7pm in Annaduff.
Senior Championship Qualifiers – Hard luck to the Leitrim Senior team who were defeated by Clare in the Qualifiers last weekend. Aughawillan had great representation on the panel this year with 6 players representing the club. Well done to Pearce Dolan, Sean Flanagan, Fergal McTague & Mark, Gary & Noel Plunkett. Score: Leitrim 17 points, Clare 3-17.
Lory Meagher Cup – Well done to everyone involved with the Leitrim Senior hurling team who won the Lory Meagher Cup in Croke Park after extra time last Saturday. Score: Leitrim 2-23, Lancashire 2-22.
Féile Peile na nÓg – From June 28th – 30th, clubs from around Connacht will be hosting Féile Peile for u14 teams from around Ireland & further afield. St Brigid’s are proud to be hosting Western Australia – the first team from Australia to travel for the competition. There will be 20 players hosted in local families along with their coaches, as well as some family members travelling to support! There is lots of activities on throughout the weekend so hopefully everyone will have the opportunity to support St Brigid’s & Western Australia!
Friday 28th June – St Brigid’s v Bective/Cannistown (Meath) at 4.45pm; St Brigid’s v Oran (Roscommon) at 6.15pm. Western Australia v Oran at 5.30pm; Western Australia v Bective/Cannistown at 7pm. All these games will be held in Kilmore GAA Grounds in Roscommon.
There will be a welcome for the Western Australia team, management & families in Aughnasheelin Community Centre on Friday night at 9pm.
Saturday 29th June – St Brigid’s v Western Australia at 10.45am in Aughawillan. Quarter finals will take place later that day, with times & venues TBC depending on who goes through! There will be a taste of Irish entertainment for our guests in Drumcoura from 9pm with a disco for the players afterwards.
If you’re around for any of these games or events, please come along to show our visitors a proper Irish welcome!
Sponsored Cycle – Well done to our cyclists who braved the rain last Sunday evening & cycled 30km through Aughawillan, Bawnboy, Corlough & Corraleehan before returning to their starting point at the Aughawillan Clubrooms. Well done especially to the younger members of the group who beat everyone back to the finish line! Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and those who provided sandwiches & goodies for the cyclists & their supporters!
A special thank you to everyone who gave sponsorship to our cyclists with all the funds raised going to the development of the pitch. There are three prizes to be won – everyone who’s name is on a sponsorship card will be in the draw for the prizes – 1st. €100, 2nd. €50 & 3rd. €25. The draw will take place at the next Lotto Draw on Wednesday 26th June.

Corraleehan Parish Walk – Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.
