Club Notes – 08/04/2019

Senior League – Well done to the Senior team who got 2019 off to a winning start with a win over Allen Gaels last weekend. Score: Aughawillan 3-13, Allen Gaels 8 points. Their next game versus Aughnasheelin is this Sunday 14th April at 3pm in Aughawillan.

Ladies Football – Best of luck to the Senior Ladies’ team and management for the 2019 season, as they begin the League against St Joseph’s this Sunday at 11am in Aughawillan. Hard luck to the Junior team who were defeated by Dromahair last weekend.

Good Friday Poker Classic – Aughawillan GAA’s Annual Good Friday Poker Classic takes place on 19th April. Registration from 9pm with the game starting at 9.30. €20 entry with €5 rebuys.

Championship 2019 – The draw for the 2019 Championship was made earlier in the week. This year we are in Group 2 with St Marys, Ballinamore SOH, Allen Gaels, Aughnasheelin & Dromahair, with the first game being against Aughnasheelin. The championship performance this year has a big impact on 2020, as 3 teams are relegated from Senior to Intermediate this year.

Underage – Well done to St Brigid’s u13 team who are through to the League final after defeating Drumkeeran in the Semi-Final. Score: St Brigid’s 2-10 Drumkeeran 2-5.

Leitrim Ladies – Hard luck to the Leitrim Ladies who were defeated by Limerick in their final League game. Score: Leitrim 1-12 Limerick 5-10. Aughawillan has 5 players on the panel – Carla LeGuen, Edel Shanley, Caoimhe, Eimhin & Aisling Quinn. Well done to the Minor Ladies who defeated Sligo 4-12 to 1-14.

Comhbhrόn – Aughawillan GAA wish to pass on their deepest sympathies to the family & friends of the late Kitty McTague.

Cards- Games of 25 are finishing this Friday 12th April in Aughawillan Clubrooms. We’d like to thank all those who have came up over the past number of weeks.

Corraleehan Parish Walk: Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.
