Comhbhrón – The death took place recently of Tony McTague of Drumcroman, Corraleehan. Tony was a former Aughawillan star and featured as a corner back on the Aughawillan senior championship winning teams of 1976 and 1978. Previous to that he played a number of years with Corlough. He will be fondly remembered by all knew him especially by his old team mates. Tony was gentle by nature with no pomp or ceremony. He lived and worked most of his life in London but often came home to visit his family. In later years Tony suffered from poor health but on his last visit for his nephew’s wedding he stayed on for the 2014 senior final and was around to see his old club get back to winning ways. Tony will be sadly missed by all who knew him but especially by his brother Charlie and sisters Peggy and Philomena. On behalf of Aughawillan GAA Club we offer the family and friends of Tony our sincere condolences. Ar dhéis Dé ar anam dilís.
