Aughawillan GAA Notes 8th May 2017

Senior Team: Well done to our Senior team who got back to winning ways last Saturday evening, defeating Allen Gaels. Final Score 3-17 to 1-8

Junior Team: Our Junior team are back in action this weekend when they take on St. Osnat’s this Saturday at 7pm in St. Osnat’s.

Underage Teams: U13: Well done to our U13 team who defeated Mohill last Friday evening. Final Score 11-9 to 3-9
U17: Well done to our U-17 team who defeated Ballinamore on Monday evening in the Shield Final on a score-line of 1-10 to 0-10.

Underage Presentation:
A big thank you to everyone who organised and helped at the underage presentation on Saturday evening. Special thanks to Tyrone star Peter Harte for giving up his time to attend the event and present our future stars with their medals.

Table Quiz: Aughawillan GAA are holding a table quiz in The Viking Lounge this Friday Night at 9.30pm. Please come along and support what is always a very enjoyable night.

10km/5km Run: Aughawillan GAA are holding a 10km/5km Run /Jog / Walk on Saturday 20th May at 12 noon. Registration at the club rooms from 11am to 11.45am. This will be a timed event. Changing facilities, showers and refreshments will be provided on the day. Entry fee: Adult €10, Student/U16 €5, Family (2 adults, 2 children) €20. Everybody is welcome to what will be a very enjoyable day.

Race Night: Thank you to everybody who supported the very successful race night held in The Ballymac Inn last Saturday night. Special thanks to the very generous race sponsors – Brian Corby Transport, Deane Homes, Newtowngore Engineering, Cassidy’s Service Station, QMT Contractors, Pyramid Bookmakers and Des Quinn. Also, special thanks to The Ballymac Inn for holding the event and for providing refreshments on the night.

Field Day & BBQ: Thank you to everybody who came out and supported our Field day and BBQ on Sunday. Special thanks to all the people who prepared and provided salads and desserts and all the people who helped on the day. Also, a big thank you to our generous sponsors SuperValu Ballinamore, Lakeland Dairies, Robert Richardson and Priors Pub.

County: Well done to Morgan and the Leitrim Hurling team who defeated Lancashire last Saturday. They now take on Warwickshire next Saturday at 1pm away.

Well to Noel and Gary Plunkett and the Leitrim Junior team who defeated Galway last Friday evening to reach the Connaught Junior Final. Final Score 3-16 to 2-15.

Congratulations to Zack Dolan who won Best Innovation at the StudentEntProg Final in Croke Park. Zack also appeared on The Late Late Show last Friday night with his study aid that helps children with their concentration. Aughawillan GAA wish Zack every success with his enterprise.

Corraleehan Parish Walk: Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.
