Aughawillan GAA Notes 30 January 2017

Aughawillan GAA Dinner Dance will be on Saturday the 25th February 2017 in the Slieve Russell Hotel. Tickets are now on sale. Price €30. Ticket Sales points: Damien Gilheany, Paul Bohan, Tracy McTague, Gene Maguire, Jerome/Morgan Quinn, Gerard McGovern. The 2016 Senior County Champions will be presented with their medals and the 1992 Senior County Championship winning team will also be honoured on the night. Band will be the “Pre-Nups”. Travel arrangements (buses) will be made in the next couple of weeks.

Registration: Members registration afternoon in the Clubrooms on Sunday 12th February from 12pm. Alternatively, if you wish to become a member of the club, please contact Michael Flanagan, Ciaran Gilheany or Damien Gilheany. Please note that membership of the club allows you full use of our gym and club room facilities and safeguards you are insured on the grounds. Adults €25.00 and Underage €10.00.

Gathering: This Saturday the 4th of February there will be a get together of all our ticket sellers and club supporters in Jackie’s Bar. Looking forward to seeing you all there, refreshments provided.

Leitrim GAA Dinner Dance: Congratulations to Patsy Prior who received the Jim Lynch Hall of Fame Award and Pearse Dolan who received the Senior Club Player of the Year award at the Leitrim GAA Dinner Dance on Saturday night. It is a wonderful achievement for both, photos of the night can be viewed on the Aughawillan Facebook page.

Corraleehan Parish Walk: Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.

Community Walking Leader Training Level 1
Walking Leader Training is primarily aimed at people wishing to lead a walking group or promote walking in their community or workplace. The course comprises of a weekend of training followed by a 4 walk task to try out your new Walking Leader skills.
The Irish Heart Foundation and the HSE are subsidising the Walking Leader Training weekend and there is a nominal cost of €50. The course fee will cover your tutor costs and materials. It will also include lunch on both days.
If you are thinking of expanding your walking group or know anyone who might be interested in training as a walking leader please complete the attached registration form and send it to Leitrim Sports Partnership, at the address below.
***Please Note: Before committing to the training, it is important to remember that the aim of each course is to have a panel of trained leaders ready to implement their skills in their own communities. We will therefore hope all participants will organise walks on a regular basis after the training. ***
