Club Notes – 05/09/2016

Senior Championship: Aughawillan are taking on the County Champions Mohill this Saturday 10th September in Ballinamore at 6.30pm. Asking all our supporters to turnout in force for what is undoubtedly going to be an exciting game of football and steel determination. Willies Abú!

Minor Championship: St. Brigids were due to play Drumkeerin on Wednesday last in Round 5 of the Championship, however Drumkeerin conceded giving the points to St. Brigids and leaving St. Brigids top of the group with St. Marys. Wishing them every success as the Championship continues.

U14 St. Brigids: Congratulations to our U14 team who won the Semi-final of the Championship on Monday last beating Drumkeerin. Final score was St. Brigids 3-08 to Drumkeerin 2-04. They will have the final on Monday 5th September against Kiltubrid. Wishing them every success.

Liam Gormley Tournament: The Liam Gormley Tournament was held on Saturday 3 September. Aughawillan GAA would like to thank Dernacreeve, Aughnasheelin and Sean O’Heslins Clubs for attending the event. Aughawillan GAA would also like to thank the management at U8/U10 for organising the event with such expertise. Our congratulations to our teams at U8 and U10 who demonstrated some great football skills.

Draw for Club All Ireland Tickets – Congratulations to Kevin Mc Tague who won the two All Ireland Hurling Tickets. Congratulations to Pat Joe Mc Niff and Ciaran Mc Tague who each won one All Ireland Football ticket.

Connacht GAA Strength & Conditioning Course for Leitrim GAA Club Coaches: Leitrim GAA are now taking applications for the Connacht GAA strength and conditioning level 1 course. All information is available on the Connacht GAA Website with the link included here http://connachtgaa.ie/applications-for-connacht-gaa-strength-conditioning-course-2/ . It must be noted that to get on the course the coaches must fulfil the following criteria; 1. Completed an Award 1 GAA Coach Education coaching course 2. Must be coaching in their own club
