Aughawillan GAA Notes 8 August 2016

Senior Championship: Round 2 of the Championship will see Aughawillan take on Kiltubrid in Carrick on Shannon next Sunday at 1.30pm. Please come out and support the lads. Willies Abú!!!

Junior Championship: : Aughawillan made the long trip to Glencar to play the first round of the Championship on Saturday evening. There was a great crowd of supporters in attendance. Aughawillan played against a strong wind in the first half and were confident come half time with a goal from John Gilheany, and a point from Darren Meakin which set us up for the game. Ronan Maxwell and Sean Quinn were in the centre of the field and were in top form, while Ryan Creamer was centre half forward and exhibited tenacity and consistency. Team lined out as follows; Goals; Damien Gilheany, Devon Quinn, Kevin Mc Tague, Sean Prior, Patrick Prior, Gary Deane, Ciaran O’Hehir, Sean Quinn, Ronan Maxwell, Darren Meakin, Ryan Creamer, Jason Prior, John Gilheany, Paul Prior, Peter Prior, Subs used: John Flynn and John Doyle. The lads were in top form and secured a win of 11 points. Final Score: St. Osnat’s 0-06 to Aughawillan 1-14. Willies Abú!!
Aughawillan were playing on St. Osnats new pitch and Aughawillan GAA would like to compliment the St. Osnatt’s Club on their grounds and facilities.

Corraleehan Mass this week will take place on Saturday evening at 8 O’Clock, as the blessings of the grave is on Sunday in Corlough at 3pm.
