Leitrim U21 Football Championship: The U21 St. Brigid’s team played St. Francis on Friday evening under lights in Kiltubrid, despite the extreme weather conditions and the bite of jack frost in the air, spectators were treated to a warming win. The final score was St. Brigid’s 1-20 to St. Francis 2-06. St Brigid’s will now play Glencar Manorhamillton in the Semi-Final on Sunday 6 December in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada at 12noon. Please come out and support the lads
Leitrim U16 Football Championship: The U16 St. Brigid’s team played Fenagh in the Semi Final of the Championship on Saturday morning in Cloone. It was a sad end for the lads as they put on a good show but winning through to the next round was not to be their remit this year.
Final score: St. Brigid’s 1-02 to Fenagh 1-15.

Leitrim Co Board GAA is offering grants for attendance at Gaeltacht courses to Leitrim boys and girls as part of their promotion of an Ghaeilge. These grants are open to registered and paid-up members of Leitrim GAA clubs, boys or girls. Some of the grants are part-sponsored by Gaeltacht colleges. In the case of cash grants, when students return they can claim their grant money on production of evidence of having successfully completed the course. Application forms can be printed from the Leitrim GAA website http://www.leitrimgaa.ie under Scór section or can be had had from the Secretary of any GAA club. The closing date for applications is Saturday 5 December 2015.
Leitrim Sports Partnership are delivering the following Safeguarding 2 workshop in Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim, Safeguarding 2 – Child Welfare & Protection Training Course The Club Children’s Officers should be child centred in focus and have as the primary aim the establishment of a child centred ethos within the club. She/he is the link between the children and the adults in the club. She/he also takes responsibility for monitoring and reporting to the Club Management Committee on how club policy impacts on young people and Sports Leaders.
A person appointed to the Club Children’s Officer position in a club must have completed safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop) This course will help the Club Children’s Officer to carry out the function of their role in the club and support the implementation of best practice in the club.
