Club Notes – 09/11/2015

A.G.M. The annual general meeting of Aughawilllan Gaelic Football Club took place on Sunday, 9th of November 2015 at 4pm in the Clubrooms.It was a well attended event, where the Chairperson Paul Bohan thanked the many hardworking members within the club and remembered the many deceased who have befallen the club in the past year. Oliver Plunkett was nominated to be our Honorary President,
The following appointments were made; Chairperson: Paul Bohan, Vice Chairperson; Michael Quinn, Secretary; Morgan Quinn, Vice Secretary; Gerard Mc Govern, Treasures: Jerome Quinn, Vice Treasurer: Aisling Maguire, Registrar: Mickey Flanagan, Asst. Registrar: Ciaran Gileany,P.R.O. Tracy Mc Tague, Cultural Officer; Brian Dolan, Youth Officer: Declan Mc Govern, Players Representative; Ciaran Gilheany, the following officers were also nominated to the executive Pat Joe Mc Niffe, Damien Gilheany, Gerard Mc Govern.

Registration: If you wish to become a member of the club, please contact Michael Flanagan, Ciaran Gilheany or Damien Gilheany. Adult membership: €25 and Junior membership €10.

U21 Championship: It was the first game of the U21 Football Championship on Sunday in Ballinamore, where St Brigids took on Sean Oheslins. Wet, cold and windy the weather did little to hamper the spirit of the St. Brigids men or their supporters who turned out in force. It was a well battled first half with the half time score even at six points a piece. However in the second half the St. Brigids men pulled away and took control of the game showing workrate and finishing capacity and finishing the game, St Brigid’s 2-14 to Seán O hEislin 0-06.St. Brigids are next to play Fenagh Gortlettragh on Sunday at 12noon in Aughnasheelin, but please note this fixture is open to a change date to Saturday.

U16 Championship: The U16 Championship continues this week with St. Brigids playing the 4th round at home v Melvin Gaels.

Celebrations: David & Cecilia McCabe would like to invite you all to join the celebrations at The Poor Scholar on Saturday night 14th November 2015, to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your continued loyal support over these past 10 years and look forward to the next 10. Hope you can join us on Saturday for a bit of music nibbles and give aways.

25 Card Game: All welcome to join the “Card Sharks” on Friday evenings in the Clubrooms for a game of Twenty Five at 8pm.Please note there will be a break of one week on Friday 13th November. (Unlucky for some!)

Country Walk: Enjoy a country walk with friends and neighbours this and every Thursday at 8.30 from Corraleehan Church. All welcome.
