Club Notes – 20/07/2015

Senior Championship: With the second round of the Championship, Aughawillan will play Glencar Manorhamillton this Saturday the 25th July at 7.30 in Pairc Sean, we ask supporters to come out in their throngs, as we battle for our place in the Senior Championship. Willies Abú!!

Junior B Championship: It was a thunderous evening on Saturday last as Aughawillan took on St Marys in Cloone in the Junior B Championship. Many thanks to all who came out to support the lads. St. Marys scored a goal early in the first half and although the game was well matched, the lead was never recovered. Final score Aughawillan 0-09 to St Marys 1-09.
The next round of the Junior B Championshp will be in two weeks and we ask all available players, of all ages to turn out for your team and club.

Busy Weekend in Aughawillan on Saturday 25 July 2015: The Liam Gormley Cup will be played for in Aughawillan on Saturday morning at 10.30am. This will be followed with the U12 Plunkett Cup, which will see Aughawillan play Ballinamore on at 1pm.

St. Brigids U14: St Brigid’s U14 will be playing the first game of their Championship this Friday the 24th July in Kiltubrid at 7pm.Wishing the lads every success.

U8/10 Round 5 Blitz: It was a pleasure to be in Aughawillan Park on Saturday morning to see our U8/10 teams play Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins. As the rain poured these young athletes, oblivious to the weather, sploshed in the puddles and set forth intent on winning the game. On the U8 team we saw, Jamie Plunkett, Jack Prior, Brian Mc Govern, Sean Mc Govern, Mark Mc Niff, Peter Mc Niff, Aidan Mc Niff, Liam Mannion, John Quinn, Elisha Mc Govern and Lainey Corrigan. On our U10 team was John Mc Namee, Grace Warren, Shauna Mannion, Tom Plunkett, Paidi Mc Niff, Anya Stringer and Rachel Dolan. Congratulations also, to our mentors Helen Mc Govern, Peter Prior, Sean Mc Niff and Ollie Plunkett on a job well done, where we saw an enthusiastic team of youngsters enjoying a game of football on a wet Saturday morning.

Out Door Hurling: Outdoor hurling is starting for U10, U12 and U14’s on Tuesdays in Pairc Sean O’Heslin from 6.30 to 7.30. All welcome and helmets and hurley’s will be provided.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others: Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others continues this Thurs at 7pm in Aughawillan. An opportunity to get out in the fresh air, learn some new skills, get some exercise and have a bit of craic. No previous experience is necessary. All welcome.

Country Walk: Enjoy a country walk with friends and neighbours this and every Thursday at 8.30 from Corraleehan Church. All welcome.
