Senior League: Congratulations to our senior lads who took on and beat the 2014 League winners Glencar Manorhamillton on Saturday last in Aughawillan GAA grounds. There was a great turnout for the game and despite a miserable afternoon, the sun shone as Aughawillan took to the field and brought home another win for the club. With a number of injuries outstanding and men short on the ground, it was an exceptional performance by the hallowed team. Pearce Dolan scored a pleasing goal in the first half, while Colin Maguire made two wonderful saves. Experience triumphed over youth, with Gary Deane and Paul Prior scoring points like seasoned professionals, a long range free from Gary Plunkett and a second from Morgan Quinn. With ten minutes to go tensions were high, Aughawillan 2-05 to Glencar Manorhamillton 0-07, but it was with grit and determination Aughawillan held on to their lead and took home the win. Final score Aughawillan 2-05 to Glencar Manorhamillton 0-09. Willies Abú!!
