Aughawillan GAA Notes 3 June 2015
Senior League: Congratulations to our senior lads who took on Dromahair on a wet and windy evening on Saturday last in Drumkeerin GAA grounds, bringing home another win for the club.It was a good performance by the senior team, with a number of injuries outstanding. Michael Prior was in the first line out of the senior team for the first time in his career and gave a solid performance from start to finish.A note of respect must be given to Colin Maguire, Gerard Mc Govern and Declan Mc Govern for their commitment and dedication over the weekend, whereby Club football came before weddings and Slane. Final score Aughawillan 1-18 to Dromahair 0-08. Willies Abú!!
Aughawillan will next play the Senior League Champions of 2014, Manorhamillton on Saturday evening next at 7pm. Please turn out to support this sure to be excellent game, with League and Championship winners of 2014 going head to head.
Junior League: Aughawillan were due to play Bornacoola on Sunday morning, however Bornacoola conceded.
U16 League Final: Hard luck to St Brigids U16 team who were beaten in the County League Final on Friday evening in Pairc Sean. St. Brigids 4-07 to Fenagh 3-15.
U12: Well done to Garadice Gaels U12 team who had a comprehensive win over Bornacoola in Dromod on Thursday evening in their 1st round.Fixtures for the 2nd round have not yet been finalised ,but training for all underage players continues on Wednesday evenings in Aughawillan and Friday evenings in Drumreilly at 7 pm. It is hoped to arrange a few challenge games in the shortterm for the Under 12’s to give them more game time. Details will be advised accordingly.
Comhghairdeas: Congratulations to Tom and Marie Lousie Farrell who welcomed home babies Matthew and Phoebe in the past week. We wish them health and happiness with their little ones.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others: Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others continues this Thurs at 7pm in Aughawillan. An opportunity to get out in the fresh air,learn some new skills, get some exercise and have a bit of craic. No previous experience is necessary. All welcome.
