A mental health awareness evening is to take place in Drumshanbo next month. The Lough Allen Hotel in the town will be the venue for the event on Thursday May 7th at 8pm. The local branch of Cara Pharmacy has organised this event, kindly supported by Teva Pharmaceuticals, the aim of the evening is to increase awareness of the range of mental health services in the area and highlighting measures that can be taken to encourage positive mental health. The area of suicide prevention will also be addressed on the evening, an appropriate choice given that Leitrim has one of the highest rates of suicide in the country.
