Club Notes – 30/03/2015

Junior League ACL 3: Last Saturday in rough weather conditions and with just enough men to play the game, Aughawillan played Aughnasheelin in the Junior League ACL 3. It was a disappointing game for the lads with a final scoreline of 2-03 to 4-07 to Aughnasheelin. Aughawillan will now play Mohill this coming Sunday at 12 noon in Mohill.

Aughawillan GAA Club Table Quiz: Many thanks to Jerome Quinn and Peter Prior for organising this event, and to those who provided refreshments on the night. A huge thank you to compere of the night and local talented Quiz Master Alan Martin, who created a quiz with a variety of questions to suit all.Many thanks also to those who turned out on the cold wintry night to support the Club.

Connacht GAA Minor League: Congratulations to Leitrim Minors, and our own lads Pearce Dolan and Fergal Mc Tague who beat Longford last weekend 3-08 to 2-10.Wishing them continued success as they play Mayo this coming Saturday at 6pm in Ballaghadereen.

Allianz Football League Round 4 League; Congratulations to Gary Plunkett, Barry Prior and Ciaran Gilheany and all the lads who represented Leitrim Senior team at the weekend, beating Carlow 0-06 to Leitrim 1-12. Wishing them continued success as they play Waterford this coming Saturday in Pairc Sean at 3pm

Good Friday Poker Classic: The Annual Poker Classic in Aughawillan Community Centre is thsi Good Friday at 9pm. A huge thank you to Timmy Winters and Pat Flanagan who co-ordinate this event. Everyone is welcome, so spread the word.

Country Walk: Enjoy a country walk this and every Thursday at 8.30 from Corraleehan Church.

Sympathy: Aughawillan GAA wishes to sympathise with Rosemary, Noel, Barry and Colm O’ Reilly on the death of John O’Reilly. John was a well known character in the Ballinamore area, who had moved to Cregg House in recent years. He is fondly remembered for his hospitable manner in the shop on High Street with his mother Bridie. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Condolences: Aughawillan GAA wishes to sympathise with the many friends and family of the late Philomena (Phyllis) Martin, Corraleehan / Ballinamore who passed away at the weekend. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.
