Club Notes – 09/02/2015

Aughawillan GAA Dinner Dance: Sam Maguire!! Oggie Moran!! Mark OSé!! Tom OSé!!
Who wasn’t at the Aughawillan Dinner Dance!!! Many thanks to the many helpers, the Slieve Russel Hotel, The Prenups and Rockin P for a wonderful night. The 2014 Senior County Champions collected their medals, while the 1989 team counted their blessings. It was a wonderful night for the club, as old friends and new gathered to recount stories of old and talk of the promises of the future.

Training: Time to start preparing for another successful year. Training on Wednesday evening at 8pm for all Seniors, Juniors and Minors. Please note, Junior League will be starting shortly.

Minors: It was a great start to the season for Garadice Gaels as they took on Drumkeerin on Saturday last in Aughawillan. With a final score of 8-06 to 0-06, we wish the lads continued success as they play Aughavas this coming Sunday in Aughavas at 12noon.With Aughavas beating Carrigallen last weekend 2-10 to 0-06 – this is sure to an exciting match, please turn out and support the lads.

Registration: Please note that Club membership is now due for the coming year, anyone using our facilities must be paid up members for insurance purposes. All new members are welcome, monies should be paid to Michael Flanagan, Ciaran Gilheany, Damien Gilheany or Paul Bohan. Adult membership €20 and Junior Membership €5.

Aughawillan / Drumreilly GAA Lotto Next draw in Shortts on Wednesday 11 February 2015. Jackpot €3,700. Thank you to all that support club lotto.

Augahwillan Drama Troupe: Aughawillan GAA wishes Aughawillan Drama Troupe another successful year as they are set to appear on stage from the 19th to the 22nd of February, with a play by local playwright John Mc Dwyer named “ Callaghan’s Place”. An absorbing drama, with a serious ebb, numerous laughs and more than a few characters, it is an event, not to be missed!

Condolances: Aughawilllan GAA would like to extend our sympathy to Agnes, John, Gabriel and the Owens family on the death of their uncle John Owens. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Aughawilllan GAA offers our sincere sympathy to Josie, Paddy, Kevin, Martin, Declan, Kieran, Brendan and daughter Marie on the death of Pat Joe Dolan. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

25 Card Game: Playing cards is good for your mental agility and can be an opportunity to catch up within the community, why not join others for a game of twenty five in Aughawillan Clubrooms on Friday evenings at 8.30pm.
